Details beyond the date, wipe policy and rain theme are not yet announced. This page will be updated when the official changelog lands.
WARDOGS Season 02 launches on October 15, 2026. Bulkhead published the date in the official Season 02 teaser on September 22, 2026, through the Steam news hub. The official announcement describes Season 02 as a larger content update: new map conditions, new equipment, and a balance rework. That is the full extent of what Bulkhead has said about the content so far.
This guide separates what is confirmed from what is still missing, so you can prepare for the season transition without acting on rumors.
What Is Confirmed
| Detail | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Season 02 launch date | October 15, 2026 | Official Steam announcement, 2026-09-22 |
| Rain as a battlefield weather state | Confirmed | Official Season 02 teaser |
| Cash and XP reset at season end | Confirmed | Official "Early Access and Beyond" video (April 7) |
| Leftover cash auto-converts to Gold Bars | Confirmed | Same official video |
| Gold Bars and cosmetics carry across seasons | Confirmed | Same official video |
| XP curves and item order differ per season | Confirmed | Official statements on seasonal structure |
| No microtransactions in Early Access | Confirmed at time of writing | Bulkhead statements via press coverage |
A note on the reset policy: Bulkhead explained it in an "Early Access and Beyond" video published April 7, well before launch. It is not a Season 02 rumor. At the end of each season, cash and XP progression reset, remaining cash automatically converts into Gold Bars, and Gold Bars plus cosmetics persist on your account.
The Wipe, in Plain Terms
When Season 01 ends, three things reset for every player:
- Cash. Your banked cash balance goes to zero, but it is converted into Gold Bars first. The conversion is automatic.
- Level and XP. Your WARDOG level and all six role track levels reset. Unlocks you paid for during Season 01 do not carry over.
- Purchases. Items you unlocked during the season go back behind their level and cash requirements.
What stays: Gold Bars you already hold, plus cosmetics. Bulkhead has confirmed both persist across seasons; the exact future uses of Gold Bars beyond that have not been detailed.
Because the conversion is automatic, there is no manual step to perform before the wipe. You do not need to spend down your cash, and you do not need to trigger the conversion yourself.
What Has Not Been Announced Yet
The following details are missing from every official source checked on October 2, 2026:
- Full changelog. The teaser is a mood piece. It does not publish a feature list, weapon list, or balance table.
- Patch number. No patch number for the Season 02 update has been published.
- Exact launch time. October 15 is confirmed as the date. The hour is not.
- When the wipe executes. The teaser does not say exactly when the Season 01 reset runs relative to the Season 02 start.
- Gold Bar exchange rate. The rate at which leftover cash converts to Gold Bars has not been published.
- What rain changes mechanically. The teaser shows wet, stormy conditions. It does not explain whether rain affects visibility, sound, vehicle traction, aircraft handling, or performance, and it does not say whether rain is global, map-specific, or randomized. Community analysis of the teaser suggests rain arrives as a selectable weather state rather than mid-match dynamic weather, but Bulkhead has not confirmed the system design.
Do not make cash decisions based on guessed exchange rates. The official fan wiki advises waiting for the transition notice before making rate-sensitive Gold Bar decisions, and that advice is sound: the rate simply has not been published.
How to Prepare
Everything below follows from confirmed facts only.
Keep playing normally. Team actions such as reviving, spotting, building, and transporting keep paying cash and XP until the wipe runs. There is no confirmed reason to stop earning.
Do not spend cash to "beat" the wipe. Purchases reset. Spending down your bank before the wipe destroys value that would otherwise convert to Gold Bars.
Do not hoard for a rate you cannot see. Stockpiling cash is fine in itself, since conversion is automatic, but do not plan purchases around an exchange rate that has not been announced.
Watch the official channels. The transition notice, if Bulkhead publishes one, will appear on the Steam news hub and the official WARDOGS account on X. That notice is the only reliable source for the wipe timing and the exchange rate.
The Rain Theme
The official teaser opens on a clear village scene that turns gray, foggy, and rain-soaked, and the clip closes on a date card reading "SEASON 2" and "15TH OCTOBER 2026." Rain, fog, and darker skies are the teaser's clearest visual signal.
What the teaser does not establish: whether rain is cosmetic or mechanical, which maps get the rainy weather state, and how it affects gunfights, driving, or flying. Treat the rain as a confirmed theme, not a confirmed gameplay system, until Bulkhead publishes details.
